Kanga Cup Volunteers
The McDonald's Kanga Cup could not take place without the valuable assistance of many volunteers. Volunteers come from many areas of the community. Some volunteers first assisted with the Olympic Football in 2000 and have continued their association with football in the ACT. Volunteers for the Kanga Cup are the public face of Canberra, and the first point of call for many Kanga Cup enquires.
The last two years has seen a number of Sports Management and Sports Media students from the University of Canberra in volunteer positions to complete practical event experience. The McDonald's Kanga Cup has continually played a big role in developing the aspiring event, media and sports managers of tomorrow - just like the footballers and referees.
The 2008 Kanga Cup will run from Sunday July 6 to Friday July 11.
Volunteers can make themselves available for a variety of timeslots and roles. This includes for the weekends only, for functions on weeknights or for the matches themselves.
Roles include:
There is also assistance needed for the fortnight working up to the event.

Why Volunteer?

Apart from benefits such as the provision of a uniform, lunch and the opportunity to meet lots of new people - the Kanga Cup is a lot of fun and you become an ambassador for Canberra itself.
As a volunteer you will be playing a major role in staging this international sporting event and it can't be held without YOU!
Plus volunteering looks great on your CV or resume!
